The 2007 World Series was the 103rd World Series and began on Wednesday, October 24 and ended on Sunday, October 28. The Boston Red Sox won the World Series in four games, sweeping the Colorado Rockies to get their second World Series championship in four years and their seventh championship overall. Terry Francona became the second Boston Red Sox manager to win two World Series championship titles. The Boston Red Sox had home field advantage in the World Series following the American League's victory in the 2007 All-Star Game. In Game 1 the Boston Red Sox finished with 13 runs which was the most ever in a World Series Game One. Game 3 was the first World Series game ever played in Colorado. It became the longest nine-inning game in World Series history at 4 hours and 19 minutes.
