May 28th – June 3rd, Dustin Pedrioa was named the American League Player of the Week and May’s American League Rookie of the Month. On October 24, 2007 Dustin Pedroia made history in Game 1 of the 2007 World Series against the Colorado Rockies by becoming the first rookies to lead off the World Series with a home-run. Jacoby Ellsbury was born September 11, 1983 in Madras, Oregon. He is believed to be the first Native American of Navajo decent to play in the Major Leagues. As an outfielder for the Boston Red Sox wearing #46 Jacoby Ellsbury had his Major League debut on June 30, 2007. On September 2nd Jacoby Ellsbury hit his first Major League home run off of Daniel Cabrera. In the 2007 post season Jacoby Ellsbury hit .360 in 25 at-bats with 9-hits and 2 stolen bases. In Game 3 of the 2007 World Series Jacoby Ellsbury became the first rookie to hit two doubles in the same inning of a World Series. In that same 2007 World Series game Jacoby Ellsbury became one of only four rookies to ever hit 3 doubles in a World Series game. For the 2007 World Series Jacoby Ellsbury batted .438 with a stolen base and 4 doubles. Heading into the 2008 season he was ranked the #2 prospect in the Boston Red Sox Organization.
