Price started Game 2 of the World Series, holding the Dodgers to two runs on three hits and three walks in six innings while striking out five, and earning the win in a 42 Boston victory. Price also pitched scoreless relief in Game 3 and warmed up in the bullpen for Game 4. Price started Game 5, Price surrendered a home run to David Freese on his first pitch, but then retired 14 batters in a row. He was relieved in the eighth inning with Boston leading, 51; Joe Kelly and Sale got the final six outs to clinch the World Series victory.

On October 31, prior to the Red Sox victory parade, Price announced that he would not exercise an opt-out clause in his contract, saying that he wants to win in Boston; "We did that this year, and I want to do it again."

The 2018 Sox were a complete and athletic team, balanced in every facet of the game. They led Major League Baseball in batting average (.268), runs (876), hits (1,509) and ERA (3.75). Stars like Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Chris Sale and Andrew Benintendi were paired with 35-year-old and World Series MVP Steve Pearce and ALCS MVP Jackie Bradley Jr. to make up one of the most relentless Sox teams in history. And maybe even in all of baseball.
